alive & well x black scale
Alive & Well and Black Scale opened their pop-up shop this morning to coincide with their “BLVCK SEV” capsule collection.

I got there a bit before opening so I could snap some photos, but a BLVCK infused line had already started long before I got there. These guys up front had been waiting since 5 in the morning. This brought me back to the GOODS days, as it has been a while since I’ve seen people line up. Nice to meet everyone!

The capsule collection has a little bit for everyone. From the Black Scale flipped “Live in Hell” logo shirt and skateboards, to the paisley printed leather strap back, to the Kurt Cobain photo shirt, it all has Black Scale and Alive & Well’s fingerprints all over it.

Their “Wolf Tee” was the first shirt that set our Instagram souls on fire and gave word of the collaboration. By the time I hopped in my car, these shirts were sold out at the store and Black Scale’s online shop.

There’s still some gems left, so stop by while you can, even if it’s just to see the installation.

mmmmemorial day
We headed out to Portland for the weekend for some projects and to do some fabric shopping.

Stopped by Compound, Portland’s main streetwear store. They also have rad art inside, but I can’t show you that out of respect to the artists. Their signage on the windows was for a special Damian Lillard x Adidas “Rookie of the Year” shoe release.

Afterwards, we headed out to Screen Door. There was about a 2 hour wait, and goodness the wait was worth it. Using locally sourced meat and produce, Screen Door cooks up the most delicious southern cuisines. I wasn’t even in the mood for chicken, but you know when you see the person’s food at the table next to you? Yeah, I had to have their chicken and waffles, and DAMN that was the best chicken and waffles I’ve ever had. This place changed my life, as in I probably need a defibrillator now.

The night before this, we tried to eat at Pok Pok, but the wait was even longer than Screen Door. So we decided to eat at a so-so place in the pictures above and return to Pok Pok first thing in the morning.

Pictured below are Pok Pok’s famously addictive chicken wings, boar’s collar, ribs, prawns and sticky rice. This picture is completely deceiving because, for one, it doesn’t do any of the food justice, and two, I totally ate way more than what is pictured. Those wings, pq9853ahiotjlekdfgszv78qu902jo45;akte!!!! (that’s me drooling all over my keyboard).

What did we go down to Portland for again?

dear you,
Finishing up packing the weekend orders in the middle of the night. At times, it may take a while, but we always remember its worth it. If MOVR & SHKR is worth it to us, then so are our customers. Because our customers are the other part of MOVR & SHKR. You aren’t just a number, and we aren’t just robots… so we try to take the time to show you.

Our web store is now open if you haven’t checked it already.

spring / summer 2013 – “exploration”
Here’s your first look at some of our Spring/Summer 13 pieces that will be releasing here this Friday. This season has been as hectic as ever, just the way we like it. And our items? Just the way we like them. As we have always done from the start of MOVR & SHKR, we have pushed ourselves to think differently, to try new techniques, to fail, to grow, to explore and get lost… and to do it again. Welcome to the next one.
